"I fell in love the way you fall asleep. Slowly, then all at once" - a great man named John Green. Okay.
P.S. Begin what you want to do now. We are not living in eternity.
Sending virtual hug... Processing... RECIEVED? Neat! Thanks for visiting!
i remember back when we started
my kisses used to turn you inside out
everlasting arms, vampire weekend
the pitchfork review of Vampire Weekend leads off talking about ezra koenig’s blog, internet vibes (last post 5/5/06), which is a nice little nugget to include, but how do you gloss over the content of the last post, a bit of “investigative journalism” about a hood apparel shop on 125th stocked with “Ivy League varsity-style jackets”, which is an inspired and brilliant thing to be interrogating a harlem store owner about, especially when we consider that Vampire Weekend sounds exactly like a white preppy type standing in a hood “urban wear” store on 125th earnestly wondering why they carry Ivy League varsity-style jackets (certainly on the first two albums). “what’s going on here,” indeed.
oh, and check out the little bit of Polo logo deconstruction:
There is something MASTERFULLY SUBVERSIVE about a Jew from the Bronx starting THE preppy clothes company and picking a logo as over-the-top as a polo player on a horse. Ralphie must have been smiling as he designed it.
now all we need is a Vampire Weekend + The Weeknd party/after-party double-bill and we can call the post-obama era complete. or something.
